Student Contact - Dining

As part of our commitment to providing a positive and welcoming dining experience, I would like to remind everyone of the behavioral expectations in all dining facilities, including the Wildcat Dining Room and Wildcat Express. Your cooperation is essential in maintaining a respectful, clean, and comfortable environment where everyone can enjoy their meals, and staff can effectively carry out their duties.

Students whose behavior does not align with any of the expectations outlined in this email, or those outlined in the Student Code of Conduct, may face temporary exclusion from all dining facilities while the student conduct process is underway (typically 10 business days).

Students found responsible for violating these behavioral expectations risk having their dining plan canceled and may face exclusion from all dining facilities.

Please note the following expectations:

  1. Addressing Behavior
    • NDSCS staff will determine whether expectations are being met. Immediate compliance is expected.
  2. Service Hours
    • Student access to the Wildcat Dining Room ends promptly at: · 7 p.m., Monday – Friday · 6:30 p.m. Saturday - Sunday and during break periods. Doors will be locked according to this schedule and no further entry will be allowed. All students and guests must leave the dining room within 30 minutes after access ends.
  3. Entry to Wildcat Dining Room
    • Authorized entry to this facility is through the main entrance only. Students may not enter, or permit entry, through doors marked as “Exit Only” or “Do Not Enter”.
  4. Personal Items
    • Personal drink or food containers must be left at the entrance to the Wildcat Dining Room. Backpacks and other bags are allowed inside; however, they may not be used to carry food or drink out of the facility.
  5. Show Respect
    • Treat all staff and fellow students with courtesy and respect. Be mindful of your actions and behaviors toward others.
  6. Keep Conversations at a Moderate Volume
    • While we encourage socializing, please be considerate of those around you by talking at a conversational volume level.
  7. Use Appropriate Language
    • Be mindful of the language you use. Offensive or inappropriate language has no place in shared spaces.
  8. Consume Food and Drinks Within the Wildcat Dining Room
    • Students may eat all they desire each time they use a meal swipe; however, all food and drinks must be consumed inside the Wildcat Dining Room. Students using a meal swipe for Grab and Go items must leave the dining room immediately after selecting their items.
  9. Cleanliness
    • Students are expected to clean up after themselves. Please dispose of waste properly and return any items to their designated areas.
  10. No Removing Food or Tableware
    • No food, drinks, or any dining room tableware (such as plates, cups, or utensils) may be taken out of the facility. Removal of any of these items will be considered theft of services.

Together, we can ensure a dining experience that is enjoyable, respectful, and community focused.
