Student Conduct - Dining

NDSCS Dining Services is committed to: 

  1. A positive and welcoming dining experience for all 
  2. A respectful, clean, and comfortable environment where everyone can enjoy their meals, and staff can effectively carry out their duties. 

Resident and Guests Expectations:

  1. Respect Service Hours
    • Wildcat Dining Room ends promptly at:
      • 7 p.m. Monday – Friday 
      • 6:30 p.m. Saturday - Sunday and during break periods.
      • Doors will be locked according to this schedule and no further entry will be allowed. All students and guests must leave the dining room within 30 minutes after access ends.
    • Wildcat Express ends promptly according to its posted or announced schedule.
  2. Enter NDSCS Dining Facilities Correctly
    • Authorized entry to NDSCS dining locations is through the main entrances only. Students may not enter, or permit entry, through doors marked as “Exit Only” or “Do Not Enter”. 
  3. Show Respect 
    • Treat all staff and fellow students with courtesy, consideration, and civility. Be mindful of your actions and behavior toward others. 
  4. Keep Conversations at a Moderate Volume 
    • While we encourage socializing, please be considerate of those around you by talking at a conversational volume level.
  5. Use Appropriate Language
    • Be mindful of the language you use. Offensive, aggressive, and otherwise inappropriate language has no place in shared spaces. 
  6. Cleanliness
    • All guests are expected to clean up after themselves. Please dispose of waste properly and return any items to their designated areas.
    • Accidents happen, students and employees are expected to cleanup or assist with any cleanup in collaboration with Dining Services staff. 
  7. Wildcat Dining Room specifics:
    1. Food and Drinks
      • Students may eat all they desire each time they use a meal swipe.
      • All food and drinks must be consumed inside the Wildcat Dining Room.
      • Students using a meal swipe for Grab-n-Go items must leave the dining room immediately after selecting their items. 
    2. Personal Items
      • Personal drink or food containers must be left at the entrance to the Wildcat Dining Room.
      • Backpacks and other bags are allowed inside; however, they may not be used to carry food or drink out of the facility.
    3. No Removing Food or Tableware
      • No food, drinks, or any dining room tableware (such as plates, cups, or utensils) may be taken out of the facility. Removal of any of these items will be considered theft of services. 

Addressing Behavior Not Aligned with Behavioral Expectations and the NDSCS Student Code of Conduct 

NDSCS staff will determine whether expectations are being met. Immediate compliance is expected.

Students may face temporary exclusion from all dining facilities while the student conduct process is underway (typically 10 business days).

Students found responsible for violating these behavioral expectations risk having their dining plan canceled and may face exclusion from all dining facilities.
