NDSCS-Fargo and Sanford Health EMS Education at F-M Ambulance have teamed up to offer two-year degree and certificate options in the field of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Emergency Medical Technician (Certificate)

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program offers career training for entry-level positions in an emergency medical setting. Those students who successfully complete the EMT coursework will be eligible to apply to take state or national certification exams.

Paramedic Technology (A.A.S. degree)

NDSCS offers a program certificate and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Paramedic Technology and is affiliated with F-M Ambulance Service in Fargo, N.D. Students will gain the necessary skills to complete national certification and obtain employment as a paramedic.

In the NDSCS Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program, you’ll receive hands-on training from professional staff at Sanford Health EMS Education at F-M Ambulance that prepares you to enter the workforce with confidence.

Licensing/Certification Disclosure

All students completing the EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic program must take and successfully pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians cognitive and psychomotor exams to become certified as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic. The National Registry certification is recognized in every state in the United States, and 46 states, including North Dakota, use the National Registry certification as a basis for licensure to work.

It shall be the purpose of this program and the EMS Technologies of Sanford Health EMS Education (SHEMSE) in coordination with North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS), to educate and train EMS students with the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavioral) learning domains required for entry-level competency at the level (EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic) the EMS student is enrolled in.
