Mission

The mission of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department is to support the North Dakota State College of Science by offering general education courses for students completing programs or transferring. The department provides instruction in economics, political science, psychology, sociology, history, philosophy, criminal justice, social work, and religion.

Vision

The courses of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department are taught not only with an eye toward helping students enter the workforce, but also stimulating their participation in a modern democratic society impacted by global forces. A knowledge of the social science disciplines is a solid base from which to exercise old and newly-emerging moral responsibilities in an era of rapid and complex social change.
